Green Beans and Shiitake Mushrooms

Recipe Ingredients for Green Beans and Shiitake Mushrooms

1 ounce dried shiitake mushrooms
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp water
1 tsp corn starch
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
8 ounces green beans

Recipe Directions for Green Beans and Shiitake Mushrooms

  1. Place mushrooms in bowl; cover with hot water. Let stand 30 minutes or until caps are soft. Drain mushrooms; squeeze out excess water.

  2. Combine soy sauce, water, corn starch, garlic and red pepper flakes in a small dish.

  3. Heat medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add oil and swirl to coat surface. Add mushrooms, beans and remaining 1/2 cup water; cook and stir until water boils. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and cook 8 to 10 minutes or until beans are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.

  4. Stir cornstarch mixture; add to wok. Cook and stir until sauce thickens and coats beans.
