Recipe Ingredients for Green Apple, Cheese, and Chard Oven Omelet

2 cups chard
2 onions
1 clove garlic
1/4 cup water
1 apple
5 eggs
3/4 cup milk
1 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup monterey jack cheese

Recipe Directions for Green Apple, Cheese, and Chard Oven Omelet

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Chop the chard stems into one-inch pieces. Then chop the leaves the same way. Film a large skillet with olive oil and heat over med-hi heat. Add chopped onions, chard and salt and pepper. Saute until golden brown.

  2. Stir in the garlic and chard leaves. Add the water and stir until the leaves are wilted. Then stir in the apple and remove skillet from heat.

  3. In a bowl beat together egges, milk, and a pinch of nutmeg, salt and pepper. Add 2/3 cup of each cheese. Pour the mixture over the greens. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and cover with foil.

  4. Bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes more.
