Recipe Ingredients for Greek Turkey Burgers-modified

1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 lb turkey, ground
8 oz fat-free yogurt
1/4 cup bread crumbs, seasoned
1 egg white
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp oregano, dried
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tomatoes, sliced
1 cucumber, sliced
6 whole wheat pitas
6 lettuce leaves

Recipe Directions for Greek Turkey Burgers-modified

  1. Combine turkey, 1/2 of the chopped onion, 1/4 cup yogurt, bread crumbs, egg white, 3/4 tsp oregano, salt and black pepper.

  2. For sauce, stir remaining onion and remaining oregano into remaining yogurt. Set aside.

  3. Form turkey mixture into 6 patties 1/2 inch thick. Lightly spray large skillet with cooking spray and heat over medium until hot. Cook patties 10-12 minutes or until meat is no longer pink in the middle, turning once.

  4. Fill pita with 1 lettuce leaf, sliced tomato, sliced cucumber, and turkey patty. Top with reserved yogurt sauce.
