Recipe Ingredients for Greek Stuffed Peppers

16 oz Lean Ground Beef
1 egg
1 cup cooked rice
2 small onions, chopped (separated)
6 green peppers, seeded
12 oz tomato sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 pinch of cinnamon
5 garlic cloves

Recipe Directions for Greek Stuffed Peppers

  1. For filling, mix together in large bowl: beef, egg, season to taste with seasoned salt and pepper, cooked rice, 1 small onion. Fill in halved green peppers.

  2. For sauce: place tomato sauce, brown sugar, cinnamon, 1 chopped onion and 4 whole garlic cloves in a saucepan. Salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and pour over stuffed peppers.

  3. Bake, covered, for 1 hour in 350 oven, basting at intervals. Uncover and bake for 1/2 hour more.
