Recipe Ingredients for Greek Lentil Sauce

5 carrots
1 onion
5 cloves garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
1 pound lentils
28 ounce diced tomatos
16 ounce tomato sauce
1/4 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Greek Lentil Sauce

  1. Cook onions carrots, garlic in oil for 5 minutes.

  2. Add 5 cups water and lentils. Bring to boil and simmer covered for 1 hour until lentils are tender.

  3. Add thyme, salt, pepper, tomatoes and bring to boil again and then reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 30-40 minutes.
