Recipe Ingredients for Greek Country Bread

1/4 oz Dry Yeast
225 g Semolina
425 g Bread flour
1/4 oz Salt
10 oz Water
3 tsp Olive Oil
3 tsp Honey
3 tsp Milk
2 tsp Sugar

Recipe Directions for Greek Country Bread

  1. Make sure water is lukewarm.

  2. Sift flour into a large bowl.

  3. Add the rest of the ingredients.

  4. Mix until a soft dough forms.

  5. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10min until smooth.

  6. Place in a lightly oiled bowl and cover. Put in a warm place for about an hour.

  7. Grease or cornmeal a baking sheet.

  8. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead a few times. Form into an oval loaf.

  9. Cut 3 slits, about 1" deep along the top of the loaf.

  10. Place on sheet and cover with lightly oiled plastic wrap and leave in a warm place until doubled in size.

  11. Remove wrap, dust lightly with flour and bake at 425.
