1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp white sugar
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 tbsp grated lemon zest
6 tbsp Butter
2 cups 1% milk

Recipe Directions for Great Easy Waffles (1 of 10 waffles)

  1. Separate eggs

  2. Beat egg white until foamy in a separate large glass or metal mixing bowl

  3. Whisk the flour, baking powder, suger and salt together in a smaller bowl; set aside

  4. Whisk the egg yolks, lemon zest, and vanilla extract together in a a third large bowl; whisk in milk

  5. Stir in the flour mixture until smooth

  6. Fold in melted butter and then the beaten egg whites until just incorporated

  7. Cook waffles until golden brown
