Another favorite around our household. This recipe came from a fellow home school mom and is all natural. I sometimes substitute agave nectar for the honey to lower the glycemic index.

Recipe Ingredients for Granola

4 cups rolled oats
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup almonds
1/2 cup walnuts
3/4 cup raisins (or other dried fruit)
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup honey

Recipe Directions for Granola

  1. Preheat oven to 325. Mix all dry ingredients (except fruit). In seperate bowl mix the honey, oil, salt, vanilla and cinnamon. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well.

  2. Spread in a shallow baking pan and bake for 10 minutes. Use a spatula and turn granola then bake 10 minutes more until it is starting to brown.

  3. Remove from oven and stir in fruit. Keep in an air tight container for storage. Use within two weeks or freeze.
