Nutty & slightly sweet oat Granola. This granola can be made into chunky pieces or as bars.

Recipe Ingredients for Granola

4 cups Rolled Oats
1/2 cup Sunflower seeds, raw, unsalted
1 cup Cashews, raw, unsalted
2/3 cup Pecans, raw, unsalted
2/3 cup Cherry
2/3 cup Raisins
2/3 cup Dried Apricots
1/2 cup Canola Oil
2/3 cup honey
1/8 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Granola

  1. Pre-heat oven at 350 degrees

  2. Combine oats, sunflower seeds, cashews, and pecans. Place on a cookie sheet and toast for 10-15 mins, checking every 5 minutes for even browning. Remove from oven.

  3. Cut up apricots so that they are a similar size to the cherries & raisins. Add all of the dried fruits to the oat mixture in a bowl.

  4. Combine oil, honey & pinch of salt. Add to the bowl with the oat mixture. Stir well until well mixed.

  5. Line cookie sheet with parchment paper if making bars. If you are making chunky style you can just oil the cookie sheet well before placing the granola in.

  6. Flatten out the mixture onto parchment paper. And make it flatly even.

  7. If you want to make bars bake in the oven 15-20 minutes, make sure to monitor your oven closely as to not burn the nuts. You might have to lower your oven to 300.

  8. If you are making chunky pieces, stir every 8 mins or so breaking up the granola as you stir. Don't break it up too much so that you have a nice chunk. Bake for 20 mins, You might have to lower your oven to 300. So that your nuts don't over brown. Make sure to monitor your oven closely.

  9. Remove from oven.

  10. If making bars & allow to cool for 10 minutes. then slice into about 16 pieces. Wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap.

  11. If you are making chunky style, stir mixture after you remove from the oven, allow to completely cool. place in portioned ziplock baggies or in an airtight container.
