homemade granola; my family loves it. Keeps for a long time, in or out of the refrigerator. Add either fresh or dried fruit for a well balanced breakfast. Also good in yogurt.

Recipe Ingredients for granola

12 c. oatmeal
2 c. walnuts
2 c. almonds
2 c. pecans
1 c. coconut
2/3 c. flaxseed
2/3 c. wheat germ
1 c. canola oil
3/4 c. brown sugar
3 tsp. vanilla
6 tsp. cinnamon

Recipe Directions for granola

  1. Mix dry ingredients

  2. heat oil slightly and mix in brown sugar

  3. add 3 tsp. vanilla and 6 tsp. cinnamon

  4. pour over dry ingredients and spread over two large cookie sheets

  5. bake at 250 for 10 minutes; remove from oven and stir.

  6. bak 10 to 15 minutes more, until granola is browned, slightly.

  7. Keeps for weeks in tightly sealed container
