nice change from breakfast cereal

Recipe Ingredients for Granola

3 cups quick oats
1/3 cup honey
1/2 cup canola oil
3 oz coconut
3 oz walnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe Directions for Granola

  1. MUST use quick oats!

  2. can use other flavoring like almond, etc.

  3. can omit shredded coconut for fewer saturated fat issues.

  4. mix everything; let set a while, stir again until oats are well coated with oil.

  5. spread on cookie sheet covered with parchment paper.

  6. bake 325, stirring every 10 mins; browner is more flavor.

  7. Must be refrigerated after cooled.

  8. can add dried cranberries when served. (adding in to bake makes berries tough.)
