This is an excellent recipe to help incorporate more nut-based and grain-based proteins into your diet... as well as your favorite protein powder! Note: Some protein powders absorb more moisture than others.. in this case, adjust recipe accordingly... adding more Syrup or some water to ensure a nice consistency.

Recipe Ingredients for Granola Protein Bars

2 cups oats
3/4 cup flax seed
3/4 cup sunflower seeds
3/4 cup peanuts, crushed
8 oz protein powder
4 oz. Brown Rice Syrup
4 tbsp almond butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp Kosher salt
4 oz. dried blueberries
2 oz. dried raisins

Recipe Directions for Granola Protein Bars

  1. Mix dry ingredients together, minus protein powder. Turn over to broil and lightly toast dry ingredients until golden brown.

  2. Meanwhile, in a saucepan on medium heat... gently simmer Syrup, Almond Butter, Vanilla and salt.

  3. Mix wet and dry together, as well as protein powder and fruits... mix well!

  4. Line 9x13 pan with parchment paper and spread mixture on top.

  5. With a piece of parchment paper on top of the mixture, use all your might and squish down on the mixture.

  6. Let set up 2-3 hours on counter. Cut and serve! Freezes well. Last a week on it's own.
