A chewy, crumbly bar for those who prefer something less sweet than the typical granola bar. Add additional flavourings to taste (cinnamon, vanilla extract, etc.) to wet mixture before mixing.

Recipe Ingredients for Granola Bars

2 3/4 c. Rolled Oats
1 c. Peanuts
3/4 c. Sunflower Seeds
1/2 c. Dried Cranberries
1/2 c. Raisins
1/4 c. Salted Butter
1/2 c. Maple Syrup

Recipe Directions for Granola Bars

  1. Toast oatmeal in a 350 degree oven for ~15 minutes, stirring frequently. Meanwhile, crush peanuts into small chunks using a food processor or by placing them in a plastic bag and banging with a hard object.

  2. Combine nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and oatmeal in a large bowl.

  3. Bring maple syrup and butter to a simmer on stovetop, then pour into dry ingredients. Stir until dry ingredients are well coated, then press mixture into parchment-paper lined pan. Place pan in fridge or freezer to cool, 2-3 hours, then remove from pan and cut into bars.
