Recipe Ingredients for Granola Bar Ken's Version

2 cup rolled oats, toasted
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup sunflower seeds
2/3 cup brown sugar, reg. brown = 2/3 cup
1 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup peanut butter, crunchy
1 cup pecans, dry roasted
2 t vanilla extract
1/2 t Kosher salt
1 cup Raisins, any dried fruit works
3/4 cup chocolate chips, mini version
2 cups corn chex
1 cup craisins

Recipe Directions for Granola Bar Ken's Version

  1. Assemble ingredients

  2. Preheat oven to 400

  3. Prepare a 11 X 13 inch glass pan by spraying pan, lining pan with wax paper then spraying paper lining

  4. Spread the mini chocolate chips evenly over the bottom off pan

  5. Mix and toast in a glass pan the oats, flour, sunflower seed and nuts for about 10 - 12 minutes

  6. In a heavy saucepan mix the brown sugar, maple syrup, peanut butter, butter, vanilla and salt and bring to a boil, turn down to simmer and cook for a couple of minutes

  7. In a large bowl pour the liquid over the dry ingredients and mix well to coat evenly

  8. Place in the prepared pan cover with another piece of wax paper sprayed with oil and compact evenly over the entire pan
