BBQ Pork (vinegar/sugar sauce). Use a 7 to 10 lb roast, double sauce for over 7 lbs.

Recipe Ingredients for Granny's BBQ Pork

4 lb pork shoulder
1 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper

Recipe Directions for Granny's BBQ Pork

  1. Cook pork shoulder roast in crock pot (appx 40 minutes/lb).

  2. Once pork is done cooking, remove from crock and let cool (at least 1 hour), then pull/cut meat off the bone into small pieces. And cut all the fat off the meat (as much as possible).

  3. Put meat into a large saucepan/skillet (that has a fitting lid).

  4. Dissolve sugar, salt, and pepper into the vinegar to make sauce. Then pour sauce over the meat.

  5. Simmer meat on stove for 1 hour, then turn off for 1 hour. Then simmer for another hour, then turn off for 1 hour. Do this alternating simmer/off until most of sauce is absorbed into the meat.

  6. Don't forget to stir meat occasionally during cooking process.
