Recipe Ingredients for Grandma's Pie Crust

3/4 cup flour
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup cold water

Recipe Directions for Grandma's Pie Crust

  1. Mix flour and salt. Use pastry whisk to stir in the shortening. Leave some small lumps of shortening in the mix; do not mix until fine. Add water bit by bit to get a firm, not slimy, ball of pastry.

  2. Put flour on surface and sprinkle flour on roller pin and roll until thin enough to cover entire pie tin.
