Recipe Ingredients for Grandma's Healthier Waffles

1.75 cup White Whole Wheat Flour
0.25 cup Wheat Germ, Toasted, Plain
28 grams Milled Flax Seed
2 tbsp Chia Seed
4 tsp Baking Powder
2 tsp packed Sugars, Brown
2 large Egg, Whole
1.75 cup Fat Free Milk
0.5 cup Butter

Recipe Directions for Grandma's Healthier Waffles

  1. Beat egg whites by themselves in a bowl, until they form stiff peaks.

  2. Put all dry ingredients in a bowl and set-aside. Put egg-yolks in bowl with the milk and mix well; add melted and cooled butter.

  3. Mix in the dry ingredients, then fold in the egg-whites.

  4. Heat waffle iron, cook aprox. 2/3 cup of mix per waffle & enjoy!

  5. * Waffles can be made ahead of time and put in freezer for a later date. Just pop them in toaster to reheat.
