Very tasty and great for a vegetarian meal. I used a can of white kidney beans in brine and the cals count was lower than showed above so make sure you check the label of the can you use.

Recipe Ingredients for Grandma's beans recipe

1 1/2 tsp walnut oil
1/2 cup canned white kidney beans, with salt
40 g red pepper
40 g onion
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 clove garlic
1/3 tsp dill
1/3 tsp tarragon
1/5 tsp black pepper
1 tsp fresh parsley
1/2 tbsp tomato juice
200 ml water

Recipe Directions for Grandma's beans recipe

  1. Chop pepper and onion in medium size bits. Slice thinly the garlic.

  2. Wash the boiled beans in clean water to remove salt and drain.

  3. In a pan measure oil, heat and add red peeper. Cover with lid and leave for 1 minute. Add onion and garlic and cover, cook until tender.

  4. Add the beans, water, salt, cover with lid and leave to boil until water reduced to half.

  5. Add the dill, tarragon, black pepper, tomato juice, cover and boil for 5 minutes.

  6. Chop the parsley and add to the pan. Simmer for 1 minute under lid.

  7. Enjoy
