This is the recipe my Grandma A used to make whenever we visited. Yes, it's loaded with calories, that's why I make it maybe once a year, but, in my opinion, it's delicious!

Recipe Ingredients for Grandma A's Scalloped Potatoes

5 potato large (3" to 4-1/4" dia) Potatoes, Russet, Flesh And Skin, Baked
1 cup, whipped Cream, Fluid, Heavy Whipping
6 oz Sharp Cheddar
1/4 tsp Sea Salt

Recipe Directions for Grandma A's Scalloped Potatoes

  1. Preheat oven to 350*

  2. Peel and slice potatoes (I use a cheese slicer to get them nice and thin, just don't cut yourself!)

  3. Place potatoes in a ceramic dish (I use a baking pan because it gets the potatoes cooked more quickly) and add salt and pepper to taste and stir around.

  4. Add about 1/4 of the whipping cream and coat the potatoes

  5. Add about 1/2 of the cheese and stir around

  6. Top with the rest of the cheese

  7. Pour heavy cream over top of the cheese until it comes about 1/2 way up the potatoes.

  8. Bake covered for ~45 minutes (or until potatoes are soft) uncover for the last 10 minutes
