Home-cooking at it's finest -- you can substitute ketchup or chili sauce for the BBQ sauce if you like, or leave it out altogether.

Recipe Ingredients for Grandma Ina's Beef Stew

8 oz Beef stew meat, chopped
1 medium onion, quartered
3 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 can beef broth
2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
1 tablespoon oil
1 salt
1 pepper

Recipe Directions for Grandma Ina's Beef Stew

  1. In a medium sauce pan, brown beef in oil.

  2. While beef is browning, chop all vegetables and begin adding them one at a time into a small crock pot.

  3. In a bowl, stir together salt, pepper, BBQ sauce and beef broth (choose low-sodium, or skip adding salt).

  4. Drain and add beef.

  5. Set on low, and cook for 8 hours. Ready to serve when you get home.
