I grew up with this and ALWAYS looked forward to special occasions purely because of this pudding. She never was able to give me the recipe but this tastes just like hers used to. The key is to use bananas with a little age on them to add that extra sweetness.

Recipe Ingredients for Grandma Hope's Nana Puddin'

1 package instant vanilla pudding
1 cup milk, 2%
1 cup water
10 oz vanilla wafers
2 bananas, sliced

Recipe Directions for Grandma Hope's Nana Puddin'

  1. Prepare pudding with milk and water, it will seem pretty runny, but it's just how you want it

  2. Put the pudding in the fridge for 15-20 minutes before you start the rest of the recipe

  3. Add a layer of vanilla wafers to a pretty bowl (or any bowl but pretty bowls seem to make it taste just a little better)

  4. Add a layer of pudding

  5. Then a layer of bananas

  6. Continue the wafer, pudding, banana layering until all of the ingredients or used

  7. If you have leftover wafers crumble them on top

  8. If you have leftover bananas add them around the edge of the bowl to give some decoration

  9. Chill for 1-5 hours, depending on how long you can wait(=
