Recipe Ingredients for Grandma Gnome-a-non's Sgetti

3 pounds tomatoes
1/2 green bell pepper
1/2 onion
1 cup fresh basil
4 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 Garlic to taste
8 oz whole wheat pasta

Recipe Directions for Grandma Gnome-a-non's Sgetti

pour olive oil in heated pan and add garlic. Add finely chopped green bell pepper and finely chopped onion. In a minute, add all 3 pounds of coarsly-chopped tomatoes. Stir frequently to coat all veggies with the olive oil. Turn down to medium low, add about 1/2 cup H20, cover and let cook for about 8 minutes. While this is cooking start boiling water for the noodles and throw them in to begin boiling when water is ready. Keep stiring sauce periodically. It will begin to thicken some. Feel free to add more water to desired consistency. Add salt and pepper. When noodles done, toss fresj chopped basil into sauce while heating on high heat. Stir in basil for about a minute, then turn off. Combine pasta and sauce on individual plates and eat.
