Recipe Ingredients for Good-For-You Cornbread

1 cup corn meal
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup fat-free buttermilk
1 egg
4 tbsp margarine, from a tub, very soft

Recipe Directions for Good-For-You Cornbread

  1. Mix corn meal, flour, baking powder, and salt together.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix egg and milk.

  3. Mix dry ingredients with milk and egg just until moistened.

  4. Mix margarine into batter.

  5. Pour into greased 8 x 8 pan.

  6. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes.
