Beef Stew meat simmered with potatoes, carrots, peas

Recipe Ingredients for Good Housekeeping Beef Stew

2 lbs beef stew meat
5 medium potatoes
16 oz sliced carrots
12 oz peas
4 bouillon cubes
1 medium onion
3 cloves garlic
1/3 c. olive oil
1/3 c. flour
4 c. water

Recipe Directions for Good Housekeeping Beef Stew

Cube beef stew meat in bite size portions. Brown on all sides in oil. Remove from oil and saute onion and garlic until tender. Add flour to thicken. Slowly, add 4 cups water until thickened. Add meat back to pan and add pepper to taste. Simmer 1 to 1/2 hours until tender. Add potatoes and carrots boiling until tender for about 15 minutes. Add peas last 5 minutes
