Recipe Ingredients for Gonzo Rice Pudding

4 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup 18% cream
1 cup basmati rice
1 egg
3/10 cup raisins
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Gonzo Rice Pudding

  1. In a medium heavy0based saucepan, combine the milk with the vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar. Without rinsing, add the rice, and bring to a boil. Simmer slowly until the mixture is very thick.

  2. Remove from the heat and add in the egg and the cream, stirring continuously to prevent the egg from forming cooked lumps.

  3. The pudding can be served immediately, or chilled in the refrigerator for up to three days.
