Recipe Ingredients for Ginger Cookies

1 1/2 cups vegetable shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
4 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 teaspoons ginger
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper

Recipe Directions for Ginger Cookies

  1. Cream together shortening and sugar.

  2. Add eggs and molasses.

  3. Sift all dry others together and add to mixer. Mix until all combined.

  4. Roll each cookie into 1 inch balls and then roll into sugar.

  5. Place on cookie sheet and flatten slightly with your fingertips.

  6. Bake at 350 degree oven 10 to 12 minutes. cool.
