Pillsbury recipe - I sometimes substitute whole wheat flour.

Recipe Ingredients for Ginger Cookie Capers

2 c flour
1/4 t baking soda
1 t cinnamon
1/2 t ginger
1/3 c sugar
1/2 c butter
1/2 c molasses
3 T hot water

Recipe Directions for Ginger Cookie Capers

  1. In large mixer bowl combine all ingredients. Blend well with mixer. Chill dough at least 1 hour for easier handling.

  2. Roll out dough on floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut with gingerbread man cutter. Makes 12 6-inch or 24 4-inch gingerbread men. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.

  3. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool. Decorate if desired or sprinkle with additional granulated sugar.
