Recipe Ingredients for Ginger Chicken with Brown Rice

1 lb chicken
1/4 cup crystallized ginger
1 large spanish onion
4 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon unbleached flour
2 cups water
4 grams chicken bouillon (1 cube) Herb Ox
2 cups cooked brown rice

Recipe Directions for Ginger Chicken with Brown Rice

  1. Brown chicken on both sides in large skillet using a Couple of tablespoons of water to keep the chicken from sticking to the pan

  2. Chop onion and garlic and add to skillet

  3. add water and bouillon cube

  4. Cover and cook until chicken is done (about 45 minutes) checking periodically to make sure there's enough water in the pan

  5. Take 1/4 cup of the broth in the skillet and mix it in a custard cup with the flour to make a liquid paste

  6. Add the flour and water mixture to the skillet and bring it to a boil and then let simmer for 5-10 minutes until the broth in the skillet thickens

  7. Serve over brown rice
