a wonderful winter treat - but please, only one to a customer!

Recipe Ingredients for Giant Gingers

6 cups flour
4 1/2 tsp baking soda
3 tsp cloves
3 tsp cinnamon
6 tsp ginger
1 cup butter
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
6 tbsp molasses

Recipe Directions for Giant Gingers

  1. Cream butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy.

  2. Sift flour, soda, and spices.

  3. Add eggs and molasses to creamed mixture. Mix on low speed until combined.

  4. Add flour mixture and continue to mix on low.

  5. Chill for 1 hour.

  6. Scoop 2 tbsp of dough per cookie, roll in a mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.

  7. Bake at 350 until cracks are nearly dry - about 15 minutes.
