1/2 kg butter, unsalted

Recipe Directions for Ghee

  1. heat the butter in a wok till it melts.

  2. reduce flame and allow water in the butter to boil away.

  3. you will know ghee is ready and made when:

  4. the butter in the wok starts to froth and rises,

  5. the spluttering noise increases and starts to subside,

  6. the white buttery liquid turns golden brown

  7. and the smell of ghee wafts all over!!

  8. tip:

  9. Turn off the flame when the noise starts to subside; dont wait for it to stop; the ghee may burn.
