based on Julie's family recipe, with a BBQ-esque sauce.

Recipe Ingredients for GF Lean meatballs

1 pound ground turkey
1 pound lean ground beef
1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup soymilk
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp mustard
2 tbsp vinegar
2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 cup catsup
4 tbsp brown sugar

Recipe Directions for GF Lean meatballs

  1. Mix meat, oats, and milk. Add aditional seasonings if desired (salt, black pepper, onion, herbs, etc...)

  2. Mix remainig ingredients, except oil. Set aside.

  3. Form meat mixture into meatballs.

  4. Add oil to large skillet or Fry-pan over med-hi heat. When oil & pan are hot, add meatballs to brown on all sides.

  5. Once browned, place meatballs in large casserole (with lid) or slow-cooker crock.

  6. Pour sauce ingredients over meatballs & gently toss to coat.

  7. Cook, covered in 350-degree (f) oven for 30 minutes or in slow cooker for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.

  8. For crunchy-er meatballs, remove casserole lid for last few minutes of bake time.
