Old recipe handed down for German Pancakes. Takes a bit of practice to swirl the batter right, but it's worth it. Kids will absolutely love these. It's easily doubled if you have a large family.

Recipe Ingredients for German Pancakes

3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
2 tbsp sugar

Recipe Directions for German Pancakes

  1. Beat all ingredients together, by hand or with beater.

  2. Use a non-stick large skillet. If you don't have a non-stick skillet, you need to crisco the skillet between each pancake.

  3. Pour 1/2 cup batter in the pan with a swirling, circular motion.

  4. They cook fast, let the edge JUST get a tiny bit tan and then flip it and cook the other side.

  5. Cook the rest of the pancakes, setting aside.

  6. Get out butter, sugar, peanut butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, jam, or whatever else you might like to put inside them.

  7. Put a line of one of the above ingredients (butter and sugar go together, so do the brown sugar and cinnamon) on one end and roll it up tightly, starting from that end and going to the other. Kids love this part.

  8. Either cut it with a knife and fork on a plate or eat it with your hands! Enjoy!
