Lighter version of my favorite cake

Recipe Ingredients for German Chocolate Cake

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 ounce Chocolate Bar German`s Sweet
1/4 cup boiling water
1/2 cup In the Raw Zero Calorie Sweetener
115 grams Agave Nectar
5 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
57 1/2 grams No Fat Plain Greek Yogurt
2 1/2 tablespoons imitation vanilla
1/2 cup egg beaters
1 1/8 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/8 cup all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup lowfat buttermilk
2 tablespoons Light Stick
1/3 cup chopped pecans
115 grams Agave Nectar
2 tablespoons corn starch
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup Condensed Milk
2 egg yolks
115 grams Sweetened Flaked Coconut
2 1/2 tablespoons Vanilla Extract, Imitation, No Alcohol
1/8 teaspoon coconut extract

Recipe Directions for German Chocolate Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Spray 9x13 pan with spray.

  2. Combine cocoa and chocolate in small bowl. Add boiling water, stirring until chocolate melts. Set aside.

  3. Combine sweeteners, applesauce in mixing bowl and beat until blended. Add yogurt, vanilla and egg beaters.

  4. Lightly spoon sifted flour into dry measuring cup and level with knife. Combine sifted flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Add flour mixture to cream mixture, alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour. Beat in cocoa mixture.

  5. Pour cake batter into prepared pan. Bake until done. Cool completely on wire rack.

  6. For frosting:

  7. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat. Add pecans and saute until browned. Remove from heat and stir in agave, cornstarch and salt. Add milk, syrup, and egg yolks, stir well. Cook 2 minutes over med. high heat or until thickened, stirring constantly. Remover from heat and stir in coconut and extracts. Pour mixture into bowl and cover and chill until slightly stiff (about 15 minutes).
