Comfort Food--Dense, sweet, serve warm

Recipe Ingredients for German Apple Cake

2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups apples
1/2 cups nuts
1 cup canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe Directions for German Apple Cake

  1. PREHEAT: oven 350

  2. GREASE/FLOUR: 9 x 13 baking pan

  3. STIR TOGETHER:

  4. Flour, Sugar, Cinnamon, Baking Soda and Salt

  5. ADD/STIR IN: Apples and Nuts. Do not use electric mixer. Use hands if necessary

  6. BEAT: Eggs, Oil and Vanilla together.

  7. Pour into dry ingredients, and stir together.

  8. Pour or pat into a prepared pan and bake 45-60 minutes or until cake test done. **Baking time will vary depending on the juciness of the apples used**

  9. Best served warm with a dallop of whiped cream.
