Genevieve's awesome marinara sauce - vegan.

Recipe Ingredients for Genevieve's marinara sauce

16 oz tomatoes, drained
3 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
2 parsley sprigs, chopped
5 fresh basil leaves
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp tomato paste
1 tsp red pepper flakes

Recipe Directions for Genevieve's marinara sauce

Place tomatoes in a heavy saucepan. Add garlic, parsley, basil, salt, oregano, olive oil, tomato paste, and pepper flakes. Cook over moderate heat. Bring mixture to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer at least 40-45 min (or longer to bring out more flavor). Serve with ~ 1 lb cooked pasta, pizza dough, or crusty bread.
