Recipe Ingredients for Garlic Mashed Potatoes

6 medium potatoes
3 tbsp. Promise light
2 garlic cloves
2 small onions
1/2 cup 1% milk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. marjoram

Recipe Directions for Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  1. Fill a large pot with water and put on high heat.

  2. While the water is heating, wash the potatoes and cut them into 1-inch chunks.

  3. When the water is at a rolling boil, add the potatoes.

  4. Cover and let cook for about 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft.

  5. While the potatoes are boiling, chop the oinions into 1/4 inch pieces, and mince the garlic.

  6. Saute the garlic and onions in 1 tbsp. of the Promise.

  7. When the potatoes are done cooking, drain out the water. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher.

  8. Once the potatoes are thoroughly mashed, add in the onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and marjoram, and stir.

  9. Add the milk a little at a time, as necessary, until the potatoes reach the desired consistency. The more milk you add, the creamier they will be, the less milk, the stiffer the mashed potatoes will be.

  10. Once all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, serve immediately.
