This garden salsa is much better than the store bought kind for many reasons. It tastes much more fresh and it is not loaded with the additives that are in the other salsas. This salsa is a great alternative to cheese, as you can eat it with nachos. Salsa is also filled with many vegetables rich in nutrients and it is has low calories.

Recipe Ingredients for Garden Salsa

3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 large ripe tomatoes, peeled and seeds removed, chopped
2 Jalapeņo peppers, chopped
2 tablespoons minced cilantro
1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice

Recipe Directions for Garden Salsa

  1. Put chopped onion and garlic in a strainer; pour 2 cups boiling water over them then let drain throughly. Discard water. Cool.

  2. Combine onions and garlic with chopped tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours to blend flavors
