I make these waffles every weekend, almost any type of accent can be substituted for the strawberries..my boys like chocolate chips, sometimes I like apples and cinnamon. It's a very versatile recipe

Recipe Ingredients for fruit waffles

2 eggs
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup 2% milk
3/4 cup skim milk
1/2 cup canola oil
1 tbsp. Splenda no calorie
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup chopped strawberries

Recipe Directions for fruit waffles

  1. beat eggs in large bowl with hand beater or mixer until fluffy

  2. add remaining ingredients and blend until spoon

  3. add approx. 1/2 cup to waffle iron

  4. cook 5 minutes or until steam stops, serve warm.
