Yummy fresh oat bars. Use any type of jam or preserves for this recipe.

Recipe Ingredients for Fruit Oat bars

2 cups oats
3/4 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup country crock margarine
1 cup strawberry jam

Recipe Directions for Fruit Oat bars

  1. Preheat oven to 275.

  2. Spray 8x8 pan with cooking spray.

  3. Combine first 7 ingredients.

  4. Add the margarine and cut thru the dry ingredients until crumbly.

  5. Press half of the mixture into the pan and bake for 13 minutes.

  6. Spread the jam onto the warm oat mixture and sprinkle remaining mixture on top.

  7. Bake 20-25 minutes until top is slightly browned.

  8. Cool completely before cutting.
