A healty alternative to high calorie granola

Recipe Ingredients for Fruit, nut and Oatmeal Energy bars

1 1/2 cups oatmeal
5/8 cup lite syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1 oz almonds
1/4 c dried currants

Recipe Directions for Fruit, nut and Oatmeal Energy bars

  1. Pre-heat an oven to 275 F (135 C). Lightly grease a 9" square baking dish.

  2. Grind the almonds and oats until they resemble a coarse meal.

  3. Stir the ground mixture in a bowl with the dried currents, syrup, and cinnamon until evenly combined.

  4. Moisten you hands with water and press the mixture into the prepared pan.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven until toasted, about 1 hour or until lightly browned and toasted.

  6. Cool completely in the baking dish. Cut into 12 bars.

  7. Store in a airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
