Recipe Ingredients for fruit & nut granola bar

1 cups Oats
1/2 cup crispy rice
1 tbsp flax seed, ground
1 tbsp oat bran
1 tbsp wheat germ
1/4 cup simply jif
1/4 cup Honey
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tbsp Brown Sugar
1/8 cup almonds
1/8 cup craisins
1/8 cup raisins
1/8 cup peanuts
1 tbsp sunflower seeds
1/2 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for fruit & nut granola bar

  1. preheat your oven to 400f

  2. put honey, peanut butter, applesauce and brown sugar in small saucepan

  3. line baking dish with parchment paper

  4. toast oats on a baking sheet for 5-10 mins, do not burn

  5. melt peanut butter honey mixture, do not simmer

  6. while the oats are toasting put rice, fruit, nuts, flax, bran, germ, salt & seeds in a bowl, toss to combine

  7. when oats are golden brown, add to the bowl with the fruit/nuts. on top of this, add the peanut honey mixture. mix well.

  8. Plop the mixture into the baking dish lined with parchment paper and spread evenly into baking dish. The bars are ~1/4″ in depth when spread correctly.

  9. Carefully lift out parchment paper from baking dish and let cool on baking rack. After about 30 minutes (or cool to touch, I like to flip the block over to cool more evenly.
