My favourite summer fruits with a buttery crumble topping. This is perfect for a quick fix and can be halved or doubled easily. Also note that the fruit I have used was frozen and will need to be defrosted in the microwave on a low defrost setting for 4-8 minutes or if thought about with enough time to give, needs to defrost naturally for 8 hours.

Recipe Ingredients for Fruit Crumble

1 kg Summer Fruits Frozen
10 oz plain flour
5 oz unsalted butter
5 oz sugar

Recipe Directions for Fruit Crumble

  1. If the fruit is frozen, it will need to have time to defrost. (4-8 minutes in the microwave on a low DEFROST setting or 8 hours prior to making the crumble.

  2. When fruit is ready place into an ovenproof dish and pre-heat oven to 200 degrees.

  3. For the crumble;

  4. Mix together the flour and the sugar, until equally combined.

  5. Next, cube the butter and use fingers to equally distribute it into the flour and suigar mix until the crumble topping looks well combined and grainy, not lumpy.

  6. Sprinkle topping over the fruit and place in the oven for 25-30 minutes (may need to be watched if you have a fan assisted oven, timings vary).
