Most natural recipie for black beans, the way it´s prepared in Guatemala. Delicious with sour cream but not recomended if you´re dieting. After you had this once, you can blend it to have a been dip or even refry this for refried beens. In Central america you eat this with white rice or corn tortillas.

Recipe Ingredients for Frijoles hervidos

2 cup black bean
3 garlic cloves
1 onion
2 l water
4 tablespoon salt

Recipe Directions for Frijoles hervidos

  1. Place beans in water for at least 2 hours

  2. Place everything on a pressure cooker for 90 minutes since it starts boiling.

  3. You can serve as a soup or eliminate de broth and serve only the beans.

  4. It´s optional to add sour cream.
