Fried Tofu Recipe

tasty, quick protein part of a meal

Recipe Ingredients for Fried tofu

340 g extra firm tofu
1 egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp black pepper, ground,
1 tsp paprika
2 tbs sesame oil
1 tbs rice vinegar
15 g whole wheat flour
3 tbs vegetable oil

Recipe Directions for Fried tofu

  1. Cut the tofu in slices about 1 cm wide. Pat with condiments and sesame oil and rice vinegar. Place flour in a shallow dish, dip tofu slices in flour. Beat egg, after dipping tofu slices in flour, coat nicely with the egg. Drop tofu slices in hot frying pan with a bit of vegetable oil in it. Fry on high on both sides for a couple of minutes.

  2. I'm sure the recipe would be greatly improved if tofu is marinated, but I rarely have the time. Serve with rice/cous cous. quinoa and a vegetanble.
