Southern style fried green tomatoes - fried in EVOO.

Recipe Ingredients for Fried Green Tomatoes

1 large tomato, sliced
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Fried Green Tomatoes

  1. Slice the tomato into thin slices. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.

  2. Dredge tomato slices through cornmeal.

  3. Using high heat, heat EVOO in skillet until smoking. Place tomatoes in pan, and fry until golden brown on each side.

  4. Garnish with green onion and lettuce shreds.
