Can be used for a tomato sauce base or tomato soup heavy cream can be added for cream tomato soup - serve with grilled cheese on rye.

Recipe Ingredients for Fresh Tomato Soup

5 cups diced tomatoes
4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 med green pepper
1/2 onion
6 oz hunts tomato paste

Recipe Directions for Fresh Tomato Soup

  1. Puree the tomatoes and add spices - rosemary, oregano, basil, garlic, pepper and salt to taste.

  2. Chop onion and green pepper

  3. Dump puree, chopped onion and green pepper into large soup pot and simmer for 2 hours.
