Use your holiday pumpkins to make this wonderful pumpkin pie.

Recipe Ingredients for Fresh Pumpkin Pie

2 c. fresh pumpkin (small or medium pumpkins taste best)
1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 t. salt
1 t. ginger
1/4 t. nutmeg or allspice
1/8 t. cloves
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 pie crust

Recipe Directions for Fresh Pumpkin Pie

  1. Clean pumpkins and slice meat from rind. Cut into squares and bake in covered dish 400 for 30 min or until very tender. Remove and puree.

  2. Preheat oven to 425. Mix all ingredients, pour into shell. Bake 15 min at 425 and then reduce heat to 350 for 45 min or until inserted knife comes out clean.
