Recipe Ingredients for Fresh Cherry Cobbler

1/4 cup Splenda
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tbsp cornstarch
2 cups fresh red tart cherries (pitted)
1/4 tsp almond extract
1/2 cup wheat flour
1/2 tbsp sugar
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp butter
1/4 cup milk

Recipe Directions for Fresh Cherry Cobbler

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. 1/4 cup sugar, Splenda, & cornstarch in small pan.

  3. Stir in cherries and extract.

  4. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir one minute. Pour into glass bread pan.

  5. Stir together flour, 1/2 tablespoon sugar, baking powder, and salt. Well milk & combine.

  6. Add shortening - Cut through shortening with fork 6 times, mix until dough forms a ball.

  7. Drop mixture by spoonfuls onto hot fruit. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until top is golden brown. Serve warm.
