Originally called for 1 teaspoon of nutmeg also, but I don't care for nutmeg.

Recipe Ingredients for French Toast with Vanilla and Cinnamon

1 egg
1/2 cup 2% milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3 slices honey wheat bread

Recipe Directions for French Toast with Vanilla and Cinnamon

  1. Mix egg, milk, vanilla and cinnamon thoroughly.

  2. Pour into oblong baking dish.

  3. Soak bread, flipping after a minute.

  4. Spray griddle or skillet lightly with cooking spray and heat to medium heat.

  5. Place soaked slices of bread onto heated griddle and cook until brown and egg mixture begins to set on top of slices.

  6. Flip and cook until second side is browned.

  7. Serve with fresh fruit or syrup.
