Recipe Ingredients for French Toast - from The Sugar Association, Inc.

4 egg whites
1 egg
1/4 cup skim milk
3 tablespoons packed brown sugar, divided
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
6 slices bread
1 ripe banana, sliced

Recipe Directions for French Toast - from The Sugar Association, Inc.

  1. Combine egg whites and egg in large bowl; beat with wire whisk until frothy. Add milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, almond extract and cinnamon. Heat oil over medium-high heat in nonstick skillet. Dip each bread slice in egg mixture. Place bread in skillet; cook each side 2 to 3 minutes until browned. If necessary, spray pan with nonstick cooking spray and continue to cook remaining bread slices. Top each piece with banana slices, sprinkle with remaining 1 tablespoon sugar and serve imediately.
